While Mommy Practices

This happened a little over a week ago, but I just had to tell the story about a particular practice time I had at the piano. It was late morning, and I was trying to get some time in at the piano so I could be prepared for my lessons that week. I've been working with Elijah to train him to play independently while I practice so he's not climbing on me the whole time or trying to play too. Well, this day was no different, he was asking to sit in my lap and play and I kept turning him back to his toys. He'd bring stuff up to me and I kept redirecting, over and over. After a few minutes, I noticed that Elijah hadn't bothered me for a while, so I turned around to see what he was doing. He had grabbed one of the pillows off the couch, and pulled it right behind the piano bench and laid down. He was on his tummy with his head near the floor and he was just listening to me play. He looked like he could almost fall asleep, but it was over an hour before his naptime. He was just enjoying the music. I told him I wouldn't mind if he did that during every practice time!
